A Moth Pheromone refers to the chemical messenger scent produced by a female moth to initiate the mating process. Male moths passing by will follow the scent of the Female Moth Pheromone and mate with her producing another wave of 100 moths
The Moth Pheromone has been studied since the late 1950’s and is very well understood. Commercial production of the indian meal moth pheromone for use in moth pheromone traps is a practical use of pheromones pest control. But Moth Pheromones are used in many commercial pheromone traps products including: pheromone insect traps, clothes moth pheromone traps and indian meal moth pheromone traps.
